Dr. Robertson serves as Assistant Professor of Music at Arkansas Tech University, where she leads the flute studio, coaches chamber music, and lectures in the music history department. She delights in the multifaceted nature of her position and the daily “switching of hats” between classroom, studio, and concert hall.
Her Arkansas Tech University Symphonic Wind Ensemble flute students can be heard on the Tonsehen label, including works by Syler, Likhuta, Stephenson, and Copley.
She also maintains a select studio of high school flutists from throughout Arkansas. Her students’ accomplishments include being selected for NYO2, being featured on NPR’s From the Top, and being accepted into some of the United States’ most selective conservatories.
Her independent study and Honors College advisees have delivered papers on their original research at conferences around the country, including publications in UCLA’s MUSE and Western University’s Nota Bene.
In May 2024, she was honored to receive the Dean’s Choice Award for service to the ATU College of Arts and Humanities.
She recently secured a teaching grant to support improved study of flute repair methodology within the ATU music department and looks forward to sharing that knowledge with both the flute students and the music education students.
