New Album: “Influences and Expressions”
In the Spring of 2022, I got a call from my soon-to-be colleague, Dr. Dan Belongia, asking if I would listen to Dr. Maslanka’s Song Book for Flute and Wind Ensemble and consider performing it with the ATU Symphonic Wind Ensemble.
I fell head over heels for the piece, its significance, and the honor of performing it with Dan, who loves it so dearly.
With the artistry of Christian Amonson, Lara Mitofsky Neuss, and Arts Laureate, the generosity of the Pat and Roger Wattam Archival Recording Project and the ATU Friends of Music, a stellar team of producer-colleagues, and the dedication of our incredible students, a record was born.
Add in the world premiere of Slavdom by Ksenija Komljenović, DOPE by Katahj Copley, and the product is a record celebrating musical influences from Bach to Thundercat.
